Pop-up dinner event in South Boston at Jeff Ross’ home. Enjoy Meqdes’ wonderful Ethiopian cuisine. Meqdes is an immigrant from Ethiopia. Jeff, candidate for Boston City Council, will curate a conversation that explores practical democracy and the impact it can have.  He’ll suggest open questions to help us connect with other guests quickly. Limited to twenty guests. Your seat at this event is not guaranteed until you receive a final confirmation email.

Meqdes will be cooking these Ethiopian delicacies:

SIGA WOT ( ሥጋ ወጥ )

A spicy beef stew, slow cooked to achieve the perfect consistency, and very warm complex flavors infused with a variety of herbs and spices.

KIK ALLICHA (ሥጋ አልጫ )

A mild pea stew, slow cooked with herbs and spices that offer it the unique flavor it has.

TIKKIL GOMEN ( ጥቅል ጎመን )

Braised cabbage cooked with potatoes and carrots, rendered with complex flavors by the herbs it is cooked with. This is a vegan dish.

MISSIR WOT ( ምሥር ወጥ )

A spicy lentil stew, slow cooked to achieve the warm complex flavors infused with a variety of herbs and spices. This is a vegan dish.

TIMATIM SELATA ( ቲማቲም ሰላጣ )

Tomato salad.
