A Taste of Past Events

Events are organized by vetted Hosts, who plan the curated experience, including the menu and venue. Curated experiences are designed to bring people together and may include storytelling, art, dialogue, cooking, and more!

Perspectives & Visions: African Street Food with Black & White Photography

Popup cocktail-style dinner and curated conversation at the Beacon Gallery. Join Chef Cecelia Lizotte, founder of Nigerian Restaurant Suya Joint, and photographers Cheryl Miller, Marilyn Nance, and Dr Jovonna Jones, Assistant Professor, English and African & African Diaspora Studies at Boston College for a memorable event of intriguing dialogue and vegan African cuisine. Hosted in conjunction with Beacon Gallery, the photographers and moderator Dr. Jones will discuss their art and invite us to explore how we memorialize the past, document the present, and create our future..

Chef Kabui @ Wright-Locke Farm: Indigenous Wisdom - Sovereign Land

Join Chef Njathi Kabui, internationally celebrated organic chef, food strategist, urban farmer and food activist at Wright-Locke Farm for dinner and conversation. Chef Kabui invites us to explore our experience and hidden costs of the American centralized food system. He'll introduce what he calls Afro-Futuristic Conscious Cuisine. The event will benefit Wright-Locke Farm, a non-profit organic farm.

Dinner, Conversation, and Music

Jamaica Plain, MA | Kenyan

Join us for dinner, curated conversation, and acoustic and Djembe music at the Little Dipper Restaurant popup space (thanks to Chef Kwasi, founder The Chop Bar, for the arrangement). Blakkamoore, global musician in Boston for one weekend only, will provide music. Paul Castiglione, founder Open Kitchens Project, will curate conversation using a proven approach to connect with others at the event. We’ll explore the possibility for more meaning and purpose through commitment to intentional community.

Making Connections through Art

Cambridge, MA | Peruvian

Join us for a pop-up dinner event, held in the cool loft space of our host, Adam Katz, in Somerville near Union Square. Somerville fiber sculptor Jodi Colella will invite us to make connections through art. Jodi is the recipient of a 2019 Mass. Cultural Council Fellowship Award for Sculpture, and has exhibited and taught extensively in the US, and internationally in Canada, China, Thailand and Greece. And enjoy amazing Peruvian cuisine prepared by Chef José Barriga, who since 2012 has been seasonally teaching Peruvian Cuisine and healthy cooking both independently and with community partners. P.S. - this event is on our host, Adam's, birthday. Wish him a happy birthday when you see him there.

Anne Stone Lafleur, MSW, will invite us to explore how small acts of kindness can help us create more joy and connection in our lives. Anne is a consultant and facilitator with a passion for helping people build and strengthen relationships at work, at home, and in the world. Our chef for this event will be Asmait Tekle, who offers a delicious Mediterranean menu.
